The president of Metropolitan Criminal Court Bar Association Ravinder Reddy was attacked by another senior lawyer on late night on March 26 2010 in Hyderabad.
Around midnight, Kaluru Venkatesh, corporator of Congress Party and a lawyer went to Ravinder Reddy’s residence at Barkatpura in Hyderabad along with his followers and attacked Ravinder Reddy and injuring. He was admitted to a hospital.
Case was registered at the Kachiguda Police Station, Kachiguda Inspector B Koteshwar Rao said that an attempt to murder case was registered against Venkatesh. “In the complaint, Ravinder Reddy said that he suffered head injury after he was beaten up by Venkatesh and his men.”
However, it is learnt that the incident took place after Venkatesh reportedly went to meet T supporting lawyers at the residence of Sudhakar, who resides adjacent to Ravinder Reddy’s house. Venkatesh appealed them not to oppose the bail plea of TDP floor leader in the GHMC Singireddy Srinivas Reddy, who is currently in jail for allegedly attacking the Pro-Telangana lawyers at Indira Park early this month.
Meanwhile, Ravinder Reddy joined the discussion at Sudhakar’s house. Few minutes later, heated arguments took place between Ravinder Reddy and Venkatesh and a scuffle ensued between them. Later in the night Venkatesh came back to Ravinder Reddy’s house along with his followers and attacked him.
Ravinder Reddy later submitted a petition before the AP State Human Rights Commission and its chairperson B Subhashan Reddy directed East zone DCP Mahesh Chandra Laddha to submit a report.
