I have been pursuing with the state Government and thru legal battle, against grant of Granite Quarrying Lease on “Devuni Gutta” at Narsimhulapalle, as two very ancient temples, Fort and Koneru exist on the hillock. Recently, on 3rd December, 2010, the principal Secretary to Govt, Revenue(Endowments) has issued a Memo to the Director, Mines & geology, Hyderabad not to consider grant of mining lease on Devunigutta. Further, the Director, ASrcheology & Museums, Hyderabad has submitted proposals nto the State Government for “Protection of ancient temples, Fort and Koneru on Devunigutta, Narsimhulapalle in Gangadhra mandal of Karimnagar District,under “AP Ancient & Historical Monuments and Archeological Sites & Remains Act, 1960″. This Gazette Notification (due for publication) would stop mining operations on devuni Gutta and help protection, preservation of Religious culture and history of Telangana Region. A public Interest Litigation # 17854/2010 filed by the Lok satha party against mining on Devuni Gutta is pending.
