Happy formation day – TRS

Intially when the party was formed it had difficult time to get to people, but slowly and gradually the TRS party has taken the separate statehood of Telangana to the national level.

TRS chief, KCR was a TDP leader, MLA from siddipet worked as the deputy speaker in the assembly. He resigned from TDP and also the MLA post and formed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. In 2001, in the local body elections it won 100 MPTC, 85 ZPTC and 2 ZP seats, then all the other political parties recognized TRS as a very strong political party in the region of Telangana.

At that time TDP was ruling for 9 and half years, congress party had the only agenda to get the TDP party down. TRS joined hands with congress and left parties and contested the elections. TRS won 26 assembly and 5 lok sabha seats for the first time, TRS joined the congress govt. and got 2 central ministerial posts and 6 state minsterial berts for their leaders.

In 2008 by-elections TRS won 2 MP and 7 assembly seats. Then, in 2009 TRS joined hands with TDP and contested the elections and won 10 assembly and 2 lok sabha seats. At that time there was some leaders who were making strong remarks on KCR within the party and TRS chief had to resign for the party president post, but after a few cinematic ways again KCR was elected as the party chief.

YSR’s death in the helicopter accident and then the free zone issue came in handy for TRS to bounce back and get the popularity, then the fast until death by KCR was the turning point for TRS, with the T sentiment in the Telanganites and the T students joining the T movement and the agitations from each and every nook and corner of the Telangana region took forward the separate statehood of Telangana forward.

On December 9 2010, when central govt made the statement that they will be working on the formation of separate statehood of Telangana. TRS has been holding as a strong party.

TRS party was formed on April 27, but due to the other agitation called Harthal that is going on April 27, TRS decided to have a meeting of TRS on April 28 2010.
