Odarpu Yatra is personal – Jagan
News pulse, Politics | admin | April 7, 2010 at 7:17 pmKadapa MP and son of late YSR, Jagan met the PCC chief Mr. D. Srinivas at his residence on Wednesday morning. They were closeted for more than one hour. Government advisor and close associate of the late YSR, KVP Rao was also present at the meeting.
They are believed to have discussed about the tour of West Godavari and Khammam districts by Jagan to console the families of those who lost their lives after his father died in the helicopter crash. After the meeting, Jagan and DS went to the marriage of Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy’s son in one vehicle.
Calling his tour a Odarpu Yatra (trip to console people), Jagan said he would be visiting two to three districts every month. Though this is called a consolation trip, political analysts see this as an attempt by Jagan to strengthen his sway over the masses, using the staunch and die-hard followers of his late father.
Jagan also met the CM Rosaiah Tuesday night and held discussions with him for more than an hour. At the request of the Chief Minister, he dined with him. He was accompanied by KVP.
Jagan is believed to have told both the Chief Minister and the PCC chief that his tour was not political and it was just an attempt to meet the family members of those who lost their lives, unable to bear the death of YSR and console them. He is believed to have assured both the Chief Minister and the PCC chief that he would do nothing to disturb the unity of the party. Rosaiah is reported to have urged the Jagan to ensure that the unity of the party continue as during the time of YSR.
