Rosaiah’s limited cabinet expansion?

Rosaiah got an appointment from Sonia Gandhi, the Congress president, on Wednesday evening. He is going to Delhi on Wednesday afternoon after completing his engagements in Mahabubnagar district on the same day. During his stay on April 8 and 9 at Delhi, he could not meet the Congress chief as Sonia Gandhi was busy with other important engagements.

In his meeting with Sonia Gandhi, he is likely to discuss the political situation in the state. He is likely to seek her approval for his plan for cabinet expansion and obtain her permission.

As per the news making rounds, the CM is thinking of inducting three or four ministers into his cabinet for the time-being. He wants to undertake a comprehensive reshuffle of his cabinet after the ensuing elections to the Legislative Council for three seats from the GHMC Constituency and Local Bodies Constituency in Ranga Reddy district and elections for six seats to the Rajya Sabha from the Legislative Assembly slated to be held next month. In that reshuffle, he may drop some ministers and induct some of his loyalists to important portfolios.

The sources said that he may induct senior leaders Mr K Jana Reddy, Mr J C Diwakara Reddy and Mr M Sashidhara Reddy, who are eagerly waiting to become ministers for quite some time. He is also expected to induct Ms Kuthuhalamma from Chittoor districts in the place vacated by Ms Konda Surekha.
