T students are very excited, bounced back and have decided to re-launch the separate Telangana movement. As a come-back agitation they will obstruct the proposed yatras of Samaikyandhra supporters Jagan Mohan Reddy and PRP chief, Chiranjeevi.
Representatives of Students Joint Action Committees (JACs) of various universities across the 10 Telangana districts had a meeting on April 5 2010 on the Osmania University campus and decided on a series of agitations and programmes as part of the Telangana movement.
OU JAC leaders said that “We will obstruct Jagan and Chiranjeevi from touring the region for their anti-Telangana stand,’’. Jagan Mohan Reddy had planned to tour the region on the banner of Odarpu which was opposed by pro-Telangana leaders and organisations.
“We won’t allow Jagan Mohan Reddy to even put his foot in the region. He will be responsible for whatever consequences that may arise,’’ the student JAC leaders warned.
The JACs also decided to ensure that the elected representatives of TRS, TDP and BJP, who resigned during the peak of separate Telangana agitation, get re-elected to the state Assembly in the bypolls. Meanwhile, the JAC leaders have given a call to celebrate the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Jyothi Rao Phule (April 11), Dr BR Ambedkar (April 14) and Komaram Bheem (April 20) on a grand scale across the Telangana region. The JAC also demanded that the people behind the communal violence in the Old City be arrested and stringent action to be taken against them.
Student JAC representatives from all the Telangana universities attended the meeting.
