Telanganam in Abu Dhabi a huge success in pics and video

Prof. Kodandaram and Desapathi Srinivas have attended the Gulf Telanganam event on April 16 2010 at 7 pm in Abu Dhabi which was conducted by GTWCA. The organizing committee includes Srinivas Sharma, Juvvadi Srinivas Rao, Sadanand Baddur,Raghu Ambati, Raja Srinivas Rao, Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, Ravikanti Suman, Salauddin, Srinivas Reddy and Deva Reddy.

The event started with UAE Telangana Kala Samithi, A group of 25 singers enthralled the audience with telangana songs and lyrics based on current telanagna movement.

Welcome speech given by Dr.Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy of GTWCA Abu Dhabi. This is followed by “Jyothi Prajvalana” by Prof. Kodandaram, Desapathi Srinivas and GTWCA members. Silent homage paid to Telangana Matyrs followed by “Veerula Ku Joharlu” song sung by Sri Desapathi Srinivas.

Prof Kodandaram in his address to the attendees explained the telangana movement from 1956 to till today and the importance of telangana state at this juncture. While explaining the losses incurred by telanganites during the last 50 years under the Andhra rulers and the colonization of their capitalists, he expressed that we do not oppose all Andhra people but people who oppose telangana movement and capitalists who are earning on our resources.

It is highlighted that we are not against telugu movie industry but dead against who speak against Hyderabad/Telangana and our culture. Desapathi mentioned about the supression of telangana culture by andhrites. The importance of preserving our rich culture,heritage is strongly conveyed.

Prior to this event, Prof Kodandaram,Desapathi Srinivas along with GTWCA members have visited labour camps in Dubai & Abu Dhabi this afternoon. They have spoken to the telanganites living in labour camps and came to know their problems faced here. All telanganites in the labour camps have stressed the need for telangana state and expressed their support for the telangana movement. They also said that creation of telangana state is the only solution for them which will stop migration to gulf as we will get our share in water,jobs,resources.

The event got overwhelming response and was a huge success.
