TDP chief, CBN on May 16 2010 met the CM Rosaiah, at his camp office and represented the problems being faced by the farmers in the state. He led a delegation of his party men.

Talking to media later, CBN said that the condition of the farmers had turned worse from bad. He said that no farmer was getting a remunerative price for any crop and the government was playing the role of a silent witness, taking no action to mitigate the suffering of the farming community.

The TDP chief said though the farmers had lost their crops due to untimely rains and hailstorms, the government took no notice of the calamities. He said as the government failed to provide storage facilities, the farmers were forced into distress sale of their products. He said the farmers, who were getting six quintals of tobacco per acre earlier, got only three quintals this year and even for that, there were no buyers and the government failed in market intervention.

Alleging that the CM had not even reviewed the situation arising out of adverse conditions to the farming community, he said that he should have talked to the PM and organized things, to help the farmers.
Stating that cotton farmers, who were once considered rich were now facing financial problems as there were no buyers for their stocks. He said cotton which was once sold for Rs 3,200 a quintal was not getting even Rs 2,500 now
