Thandri laaga Koduku, This sums up the political game being played by Jagan, power hungry son of late YSR to remain in limelight and emerge as a force to be reckoned with in Andhra Pradesh. Ever since the tragic death of YSR in a helicopter crash in last September, Jagan has been in the news for all the wrong doings. In the short span of eight months the maverick young turk has been caught in a lot of controversies from triggering Jagan for CM campaign, making statements against his own party, to the present O Yatra.

Jagan looks like is power hungry, he is stubborn and wants to do whatever he likes. There is no denial of the fact that he is trying to follow in the footsteps of his late father to emerge as a power centre without being actually holding the reins of power.

It might be mentioned here that late YSR as the Congress Lok Sabha member from Kadapa has also pursued a policy of being a rebel within the Congress and caused pinpricks to the then Chief Ministers Chenna Reddy, Nedurmalli Janardhan Reddy and Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy. As a matter fact the Congress High Command also indirectly extended support to him and utilized him to keep the Chief Ministers on leash.

The late YSR then played a pivotal role as the Opposition leader when Telugu Desam was ruling the state. As an Opposition leader he strived to rebuild the Congress in the state and with his marathon pada yatra to study the farmers problems all over the state has succeeded in rebuilding the image of the Congress party in the state and ultimately wrest power from TDP. His long cherished dream to become the Chief Minister became a reality due to sheer hard work commitment to the Congress.

Thus Jagan now seem to be emulating the policies of his late father.

It is an open secret that he too nurturing to become the Chief Minister. However, unlike his late father instead of nurturing the party and work hard to build his image as a Committed Congress leader he seem to be in a hurry and indulging in adventurous actions. When he tried to project himself as the rightful successor to his late father by encouraging YSR loyalists to launch the Jagan for CM campaign, it fired back at him. He then donned the role as a rebel within the Congress to cause pinpricks to the Rosaiah administration.

In a bid to win over the support of the masses, Jagan scripted the Odarpu Yatra ostensibly to console the bereaved families of those who had died either of shock or committed suicide over his father’s untimely demise. He received a shot in the arm when his first Odarpu Yatra in East Godavari and Khammam districts earlier received tremendous response.

He showered money as water and most of the attendees were is followers or people who have been brought by giving money. Thus he tried to enact a similar show of strength of sorts in Warangal district. However, his second attempt in this regard seem to have bombed with the situation taking a violent turn.

Though his yatra was aborted mid way, Jagan seem to have come into lime light, once again for a wrong doing in adopting a defiant posture and not heeding to the advice of the High Command.
