Telangana Rashtra Samiti also known as TRS is aiming to strengthen the party organisation in the city of Hyderabad to make the party a major force, a senior leader said in Hyderabad on May 9 2010.
“There is a notion among many that TRS is not strong in Hyderabad. Critics allege that the party could not field its candidates in the city civic polls because it feared of a rout. But it was a strategic decision. We wanted to focus on the fast-unto-death started by party president K Chandrasekhar Rao. We need to dispel this notion,” senior leader Naini Narasimha Reddy said.
The party organisation should be strengthened to make TRS a major player in Hyderabad city politics and also to give a push to the separate statehood of Telangana agitation, he said. He was speaking after a group of youth from the city joined the party this evening.
TRS chief, KCR was scheduled to attend the meeting but he did not.
