MATA Telangana night – in video

Minnesota Area Telangana Association (MATA) has organized its first ever Telangana cultural event “Telangana Night” at Oak Grove Middle School, Minneapolis on the evening of June 5, 2010. The event started off with Ganesh/ Telangana talli pooja, and followed by a two minute silence in honor of the Telangana martyrs. MATA specially invited well known folk singer Sivanagulu from India for this event. A beautiful exhibition of pictures consisting of historic places, people and cultural aspects of Telangana was arranged for audience. This event was filled with lot of song and dance programs from many participants including children. The main attraction of the evening was “Bathukamma”, “Bonalu” dance performances and Sivanagulu’s folk songs interacting with the audience. Authentic Telangana dinner with many traditional dishes was also served at the event. Around 800 people from Minnesota & neighboring states attended this event making it a tremendous success. Everyone appreciated the organizers for their efforts in making this such a great experience.
