The State BJP has charged the State government with misusing its power in the by-polls held on July 27 2010, particularly in the Nizamabad Urban constituency where the PCC Chief, DS was in fray. The party also demanded an inquiry into the malpractices committed by the ruling party.

Speaking to the media, the State party general secretary, Mr N Ramchander Rao, said that the behavior of the government officials in the Nizamabad Urban constituency remembered the emergency days. He said that the stoppage of TV news programmes by the RDO at Nizamabad Urban constituency was against democratic norms.

He also condemned the attack by the Congress activists on the cable operators’ office for resuming telecasts on the directions of the State Human Rights Commission. Alleging that the RDO and police resorted to misuse of power, Mr Rao demanded stern action against them immediately.
