IV Subba Rao, Chief Electoral Officer has informed the media on July 9 2010 that a large number of nominations were filed in all the constituencies, except Nizamabad Urban. He said 966 nominations were so far received for the 12 seats.
Subba Rao said though the deadline for receiving nominations ended by 3 pm on July 9 2010, the commission has received applications from all those who were standing in queues. He said if all the nominations filed, were found valid, polling would be conducted through ballot, as the number was beyond the capacity of the Electronic Voting Machines.
