Youth lands car in Hussain Sagar

College going youngsters drove a brand new car that was yet to be registered into the Hussain Sagar lake on July 29 2010. All the youngsters in the car were rescued by the police and are safe.

The youngsters were studying B Com in the Vasavi College, were driving the vehicle on the rain-soaked Necklace Road at a high speed when the vehicle lost control and hit the footpath opposite the NTR Park around 9.30 am.

They sustained simple injuries as the car landed in shallow waters. Police who were on patrolling duty, on seeing the accident rushed to the spot and rescued the students. The car was badly damaged. It was taken out of the lake with the help of a heavy crane.

The students, who sustained simple injuries, were taken by the police to the Saifabad police station. However, The person driving the vehicle escaped and disappeared from the scene. Police are searching for him.
