Bonalu celebrated enthusiastically in Hyd

Bonalu festival was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and religious fervour in and around Hyderabad city on Aug 08 2010. The devotees offered Bonams to the goddess at Mahankali, Maisamma and Pochamma temples amid drum beats and folk songs.
The surrounding areas of these temples reverberated with devotional folk songs. Ten of thousands of devotees from various parts of the Hyderabad and outskirts visited the Mahankali temple at Lal Darwaza, seeking blessings of the goddess.
Devotees visited Darbar Maisamma temple in Chaderghat with lot of devotion and offered prayers, Darbar Maisamma tremple has its own siginificance for the Bonalu festival, devotees were seen offering bonams irrespective of male or female. Potharaju were seen dancing to the songs at the Bonalu festival. Temple was decorated with lights and music was being played that has attracted hude crowds.
The Akkanna-Madanna temple at Lal Darwaza, Mahankali temple at Amberpet, Katta Maisamma temple at Lower Tank Bund Road, Nalla Pochamma temple at Jagadgirigutta and other places attracted huge crowds.
