T G Venkatesh, the Congress MLA from Rayalaseema on August 19 2010 said that the Telangana MPs who do not attend the dinner meeting hosted by the Union minister and party state affairs in-charge, Veerappa Moily to the State MPs would be considered as “anti-nationals”.

Talking to the media personnel at Secretariat in Hyderabad, Venkatesh said that Verappa Moily has invited the State MPs for dinner where all issues pertaining to the State would come up.

Referring to the Telangana MPs contemplating to stay away from the dinner in protest against the terming of Telangana protagonists as traitors (anti-nationals) by the Seemandhra ministers before the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee on bifurcation of the state, Venkatesh found fault with the behaviour of the Telangana MPs over the dinner boycott proposal. Not only the Telangana issue, but other issues regarding developmental activities would also come up for discussion at the dinner meeting.

The Telangana MPs also have the responsibility to take part in the discussions, he opined. The developmental activities have come to a standstill in the State due to the unrest prevailing in the State for the past few months, he pointed out.
