T lawyers warn of agitations

The T lawyers who had been protesting and got approval from the govt for 42% reservation for Telanganites in the judicial posts warned that the Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee would restart its agitations if the government did not stick to its promises and withdraw all the cases filed against the Telangana supporters.

Lawyers JAC convenor M Rajender Reddy said that the lawyers would meet Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy in this regards.

Talking to media persons, Rajender pointed out that the State government had promised to lift cases filed against students and lawyers during the separate statehood agitations during its talks with the lawyers at the time of the protests over the 42% quota in Judiciary posts.

The JAC convenor also claimed that the government had assured and promised the lawyers that the issue would be decided within 3 weeks. He pointed out that there was no action on the government’s promise so far.
