The MPs from the ruling congress party had a meeting with the Union home minister, P Chidambaram, and discussed the issue of deleting the contentious 14(f) from Presidential orders.
The MPs told the Home Minister him that the AP Assembly had passed a resolution earlier requesting the Centre to dispense with the sub rule and make Hyderabad district into Zone 6 for taking up recruitment of local people. It is learnt that the home minister told them that based on the resolution from state Assembly, the Union home ministry sought a legal opinion also from the Chief Minister so that the Centre could process the papers for a Presidential proclamation.
