OU students on a rally, situation tense

The OU JAC students and supporters organised a huge rally from the OU campus to Tarnaka demanding the cancellation of SI recruitment examination.
The policemen lathicharged to disperse the students who are in the rally and traffic disrupted at Tarnaka cross roads. Large number of students were injured in the incidents that took place at Tarnaka.
While in the rally the students protested, raised anti-police, anti-govt slogans and demanded the cancellation the exam. A number of RTC buses, stores and vehicles were damaged with stone pelting by the students. They criticised the DGP Aravinda Rao for his acts and statements
Large numbers of policemen are deployed in OU campus and surrounding areas.
