Warangal Meeting is a Democratic Challenge to an ‘un-democratic’ Govt.

2. Thanks to the undemocratic behavior of ‘andhra politicians, andhra government and andhra administration’, in this period, whole of Telangana was galvanized in to one gigantic mass movement, for separate statehood as never before. It was magnificent in its concept and content. People of all sections of Telangana society; all classes, all social groups, all professional out fits, all schools of thought and the entire cross section of it were there whole heartedly, braving the hazards of ‘andhra oppression’.

3. The mass movement was a distinctive ‘Telangana Cultural Upsurge’. Telangana Vidyavantulu, Kavulu, Kalakarulu, Vaggeyakarulu have spontaneously sprang in to the movement and embellished it with the flavor and ingenuity of native Telangana talent. It has exhibited Telangana cultural ethos and a universal desire for emancipation from andhra rule. Such a unique campaign is very rare in the annals of Indian democracy.

4. Yet, this monumental response did not move all important ‘Congress High Command’ to take appropriate decision in this matter. They are still fine tuning and calibrating the developments according to political numbers and other extraneous matters. The legitimate and democratic aspirations of people are nothing for them. Their much touted pointless SKC Report could be a ‘damp squib’ in the end. Congress party is adept in creating diversions and playing politics with the most democratic aspirations of people. The present political crisis in Congress Party could be such a potential diversion, in addition to ongoing SKC.

5. For Telangana people, there is no other way except taking the fight forward, and force Congress High command to accede to their demand, whatever be the price they have to pay in the face of this one sided autocratic andhra administration. In the present disposition, SKC or any other diversion is irrelevant to Telangana. Nothing of that sort can interfere with the formation of ’Telangana State’, which is inevitable and imminent. Telangana people would show their strength in no uncertain terms, so assiduously built during the last one year, at ’Telangana Mahagarjana’. It should be an exhibition of the ‘will of entire Telangana people’, challenging callous indifference of Congress High Command.

6. At the same time, Telangana people should be on their guard and take all possible measures to hold the meeting success fully. Any andhra administration is opposed to the struggle for Telangana State. The present CM and his administration, an old wine in a new bottle, also will try to disrupt this meeting at Warangal using their un-limited police force, to show them in bad light, as they were doing throughout. They should never allow it to happen, come what may.

7. This will be a challenge of Democratic Telangana to ‘autocratic andhra Government’. If they have any moral courage and democratic credentials left in them, they should allow Warangal meeting to take place without their repression. Then Telangana people will demonstrate, if Telangana struggle is the handiwork of disgruntled politicians, as is selfishly alleged by them or the clarion call of 4 crore Telangana people, for emancipation from Andhra rule.

8. If the government is really democratic and respect the legitimate aspirations of the people, it should allow and help the people to express their demand peacefully. It should try to understand the magnitude of their concern and suffering and act accordingly. But it is not the practice of this andhra government. Let us hope that, at least now good sense will prevail and the meeting will be allowed to be held peacefully
