Let us recreate ‘Bardoli’ civil disobedience in Telangana

Bardoli civil disobedience in Kheda district of Gujarat, led by Sardar Patel against British, in 1928 is a very important mile stone in the Indian Independence movement. It’s astounding success brought British government to its knees and has earned the sobriquet of ‘Sardar’ for Vallabh Bhai Patel. The present Indian Government led by Congress Party and its intransigence on Telangana statehood, is reminiscent of British government and its treatment of its subjects in India. Though now we are in a democracy, Telangana people are feeling the same ruthless oppression and discrimination of alien British Government from both the state and Central governments. Added to the historical misdemeanors committed on Telangana since 1956, the obduracy of Congress Party in granting statehood to Telangana since 2004 and present double-dealing strategies on its follow up to December 2009 statehood announcement are the very same autocratic means of British government. And needs a strong resolute action from people of Telangana.

For, the unscrupulous attitude of andhra legislators leaves no hope for any change of heart to concede the inevitable. It is a futile exercise to revoke their democratic credentials. The spineless behavior of T-tdp legislators makes them irrelevant in this struggle. It is better to ignore them and allow them to die their own natural death. The impotent response of T- Congress Ministers and MLAs and the vacillating dramatics of T-Congress MPs, who are germane to the outcome of the struggle, make them untrustworthy. It is time to discount them and leave them to their own fate. Now finally it is Telalangana people versus Congress High command. All other factors have lost their relevance and it would be waste of time and resources to maneuver them.

The Congress High command presided over by the poker faced Madonna Sonia Gandhi is playing a diabolic political chess game even putting colonial British administration to shame.Telangana people did everything legitimately possible with great forbearance, but to no avail. It looks like it is not enough. They are being pushed to the edge of the precipice. Now they have no alternative except turning around and take the bull by its horns. The only democratic method left is total non co-operation to paralyze the administration and to force the government to form the State. Everything is in place. People are there highly strung, smarting over deception. Organization of TRS, JAC and other fronts is there pining for action all over the region. Let us launch a total civil disobedience in the state, adopting to and based on our needs and resources. Let us recreate the glorious ‘Bardoli Satyagraha’ in Telagana to break this sinister silence of Congress Party and to get our beloved Telangana State.
