The Rastha Roko call given by the Telangana Political JAC got huge response from the Telanganites, The Telanganites voluntarily came onto the roads and blocked the roads, the traffic was jammed for almoost
3-4 kms. The link between the Telangana and Seemandhra was completely cut off for several hours.
It was also heard that the State Transport Corporation also had to refund the ticket price for all the travellers who have made a reservation, but the buses could not even get out of the bus stations.
The T political JAC Convenor, Prof. Kodandaram, BJP leaders, Dattanna, Indrasena Reddy, and thousands of Telangana supporters were arrested at LB Nagar in Hyderabad. Folk songs of Telangana were sung by the T supporters to the beat of the drum.
The traffic has come to a standstill in the Telangana region. It was a huge success throughout the Telangana region. The travellers coming from the Sankranthi holidays could not reach their destination as per the schedule.
Nayani Narasimha Reddy and a large number of TRS party supporters blocked the road at the busy RTC crossroads in the heart of the city.
At some places the supporters blocked the roads organizing cooking on the roads, playing cricket, kabbadi matches and so on. Not a single bus from the Vijayawada depot was allowed to move out by the police as a precautionary measure. Vehicular traffic also came to a standstill near Secunderabad Railway Station as the TRS and BJP workers blocked the road by staging a dharna.
