The warning issued by the Congress leadership did not deter party MLAs from joining rebel leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s dharna in New Delhi, but it had significant effect on legislators from Telangana.
Only ten out of the 51 Congress MLAs from the region turned up for the meeting held at KJR Gardens to discuss the way forward on Telangana after the Srikrishna Committee had recommended a united Andhra Pradesh as the best option. Two Ministers, K. Jana Reddy, Jupally Krishna Rao, ten MPs, ten MLCs and several elected representatives at the grassroots level were among those present.
The warning worked in such a manner that none of the MPs and MLAs present made a mention of resignation, their main weapon to make the high command realise the strong sentiment in favour of Telangana in the region.
The congress MLAs should be ashamed of themselves, We think that the if the T cong MLAs did not act evn now it will be a end to their political career.
