BJP justifies Telangana state

BJP leader, Sushma Swaraj said that the separate statehood of Telangana demand was ‘justified’. She went on to say that ‘If the government brings a bill for creation of the new state, the BJP is ready to help it pass in parliament,’ she said.

BJP chief, Rajnath Singh also said that his party was supporting the Telangana movement wholeheartedly and insisted that the government bring a legislation during the budget session itself on the separate statehood issue. He criticised the central govt and lashed out for not doing anything on the report from Justice BN Sri Krishna committee that suggested six options to settle the dispute over Telangana.

‘Table the separate statehood of Telangana bill as soon as possible. We will support it so that the Telangana state is formed,’ he said

He questioned ‘What the government was doing on the report submitted by the SKC.
