Jhukkal MLA obstructed, vehicle burnt

TDP legislator from Jukkal, Hanumanth Shinde faced the wrath of Telangana activists when he attended ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ programme at Kandeballur village in Jukkal mandal last night. Telangana protagonists chased him away and set his vehicle afire.

Opposing Hanumanth Shinde’s visit, T activists pelted stones on him, his followers and on police. Tense situation is prevailing in the village.

Around 8.30 p.m., the MLA and a few of his followers went to the programme organised by local JAC. Soon as he reached there, Telangana protagonists raised slogans against him and asked him to enter the village only after quitting his post.

Telangana activists entered into a heated argument with Shinde and pelted stones forcing him to flee with help of police. Sensing that the situation was spiraling out of control, police caned the mob away but by that time, they had damaged the legislator’s Scorpio and set it ablaze. The vehicle got burnt completely.

Additional police forces soon rushed to the village and launched a house-to-house search and thrashed some of the locals for the attack on the MLA. Irate locals gathered in huge numbers and pelted stones on police and damaged a few police vehicles also.
