Lanco hills should be Telangana hills – Vimalakka

The Cyberabad police on Thursday arrested revolutionary singer Ms Vimalakka of the Telangana United Front and 20 other activists when they barged into the Lanco Hills Tower and hoisted a Telangana flag and declared them as “Telangana Hills”.

The police arrested the agitators for trespassing into Lanco Hills at Manikonda, rioting with deadly weapons and for assaulting security guards and breaking tube lights on Thursday. The agitators asked “Andhra Kuberas”, the developers who had bought the properties at Lanco Hills to clear out and hand them over to “native Telanganites”.

The Madhapur assistant commissioner of police, Mr K. Goverdhan Reddy, said, “Vimalakka and around 70 others barged into Lanco Hills which is under construction at around 2 pm. They demanded that the property be declared as Telangana Hills and raised slogans asking Andhra Kuberas to go back.” The agitators started singing on the Lanco Hills premises and around eight to 10 protesters climbed the 27-storied towers under construction and hoisted the Telangana flag.

“They attacked the security guards who tried to stop them,” said the ACP. The Raidurgam police have registered a case of unlawful assembly, trespass, rioting, causing hurt, mischief to cause damage and criminal intimidation against Ms Vimalakka and others as per a complaint lodged by Mr G. Ramulu, the safety manager of Lanco Hills.
