No work, No Pay GO Unconstitutional – KCR

The govt wants to suppress the Telangana movement in one way or the other and had a sight of the possibility of another “non-cooperation movement” by Telangana employees, the State government issued a GO to implement the “no-work, no -pay” policy in letter and spirit.
TRS criticsed the govt GO and demanded that the GO be rolled back. As per the GO, the department heads will have to send reports to the Secretary, General Administration Department, via fax or email if employees resort to strikes. If the employees are found to be taking part in an agitation, they shall be considered as being “off duty” and no salary/allowances will be paid for the “duration of their absence.” The heads of departments will have to “monitor” employees, who sign the attendance register but keep off their work, during agitations.
TRS chief, KCR demanded its immediate withdrawal. ‘It is unconstitutional. Does it have the approval of Telangana Ministers, MLAs and MPs? Has it been discussed in the cabinet? If the GO has been issued without the knowledge of the ministers and MLAs, they should bring pressure on the chief minister to withdraw it immediately,” the TRS president demanded.
