Satya Sai baba laid to rest

Satya Sai Baba, the god-man who has followers and devotees from all around the world was laid to rest with full State honors at the Sai Kulwant Hall of Prashanthi Nilayam at Puttapatri on April 27 2011.
There has been 18 member panel of priests led by Sri Kandukoori Kondavadhani from Rajahmundry, the nephew of Satya Sai Baba, RJ Rathnakar performed the last rites in accordance to the Hindu traditions as per Aagama Shastra.
The ceremony was preceded by prayers by religious leaders of Judaism. Buddhism, Islam, Sikhism, Christianity and Bahai. After sprinkling of holy river water and sacred ash in the 7×12x9 feet pit, the body of Sathya Sai Baba draped in saffron cloth was slowly lowered into the Samadhi as the police band played in homage and a 21-gun salute was accorded.
Satya Sai Baba was laid to rest.
