The TRS politicians held dharna at the assembly premisied demanding that Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar accept the resignation of TDP legislator Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, submitted on March 25 after joining the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), TRS legislators, former Ministers and MPs staged a dharna in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue.
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, talking to media castigated the TDP for petitioning the Deputy Speaker to disqualify him for voting against the party candidate in the recent elections held to the Legislative Council under the MLA’s quota.
Pocharam said he resigned from the TDP as it and other parties had “cheated the people of Telangana” on the separate statehood issue and lamented that he would continue his fight for the cause of Telangana state in the TRS.
