Congress caught the first glimpse of the trouble ahead as MPs from Telangana joined representatives of Telangana Rashtra Samiti and TDP in supporting a day-long dharna called by the Telangana Journalists Forum at Jantar Mantar on Thursday.

Congress MPs, including K Keshava Rao, Madhu Goud Yaskhi, G Vivek, Ponnam Prabhakar and Rajagopal Reddy, later met to frame out a strategy to pressure the party high command to take a call on the issue.

According to sources, legislators and MPs have also conveyed to Congress General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is the party in-charge of the state, that they would wait till May 31 for the party to indicate its stand on the issue, after which they would be forced to join the stir.
