I will not return to Secretariat until…

Upping the ante just days before the proposed third phase of agitation for Telangana state by TRS and T-JAC, endowments minister Jupalli Krishna Rao vowed on Wednesday that if the UPA government does not announce Telangana by May month-end, he would never return to the Secretariat as a minister.

Into the 14th day of his ‘T’ padayatra in Mahbubnagar, Jupalli also played spoilsport to many contenders for coveted posts from the region by stating that no Telangana leader should agree to becoming deputy chief minister or PCC president. “Because by doing this, the state is implementing the hidden agenda of the Srikrishna committee which spoke about managing the politicians and others to suppress the movement,” he told TOI over phone from Mahbubnagar.

“Posts are not important now. It’s time to mount pressure on the high command for the creation of separate Telangana state. When Seemandhra leaders are able to stall the T-process using pressure tactics, T-leaders should not lag behind. We have to exert more pressure to force the UPA leadership to agree for the 50-year-old T-state demand,” he said.
