During the TD’s politburo meeting, Nagam Janardhan Reddy belittled Naidu and TDP. Mr Naidu reportedly questioned Dr Reddy as to why he did not use party flag at his Telangana Nagara public meeting at Nagarkurnool. Mr Nagam replied he did use the party’s yellow colour.
The TD chief quipped, “You should have used the party flag.” Mr Nagam then reportedly replied, “Okay…hereafter I will use your party flag.” Peeved at the reply, Mr Naidu asked Mr Nagam why he was trying to talk in terms of “your party, your flag”. Mr Nagam then reportedly remained silent. The TD politburo member accused the Telangana Joint Action Committee convener, Prof. Kodandaram for acting like a spokesman of the TRS. “When I launched agitation for Telangana without party affiliation, why is he objecting to it? I don’t understand,” he remarked.
In the meeting, Mr Nagam insisted that the party should send afresh the 2008 TD resolution favouring separate Telangana along with a supporting letter to the Union home minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, to improve party’s credibility in the region.
