T political JAC to include TDP and Cong

Congress and TDP leaders from Telangana stopped participating in the T movement launched by the JAC and TRS after the legislators from the ruling party and main opposition refused to quit their elected posts as demanded by the JAC during the second phase of the movement last year.

Telangana JAC chairman M Kodandaram told TOI that in the meeting held here on Wednesday, they discussed the political developments taking place in the Congress and TDP and thought it best that they all come together udner one platform in order to strengthen the T agitation. “We felt that it was a good sign that all Telangana Congress and TDP leaders are united and mounting pressure on their respective leaders to take a positive decision on the contentious T issue,” he said.

“While closely monitoring the political developments in the two parties, the JAC opined that it was its responsibility to extend support to the leaders who raised a banner of revolt against the party high command for not championing the cause of T”.

Most of the JAC leaders said there was nothing wrong in supporting the T leaders in the Congress and TDP especially when the political leaders from Seema-Andhra are putting up a united front. “The JAC will meet the leaders of the Congress and TDP shortly and urge them to exert pressure on their party leaders in support of Telangana continuously and invite them to join the next phase movement,” Kodandaram said.
