Telangana TDP MLAs will launch a padayatra from martyrs memorial near state Assembly to Yadagirigutta on May 23 demanding separate Telangana. The 80-km long padayatra will culminate in a public meeting on May 26 at Yadagirigutta. TDP Telangana Forum which met under the chairmanship of E Dayakara Rao adopted a resolution to this effect.

The forum will hold its extensive meeting on May 20 in Hyderabad to chalk out other courses of action.
“We will organise Assembly segment- wise meetings after the padayatra,” Dayakar Rao told reporters after the meeting.

He said that the padayatra and other programmes of the Forum will be organised under TDP flag.
The party MLAs would take a pledge before Lord Narasimha in Yadagirigutta on May 26 to fight for separate Telangana state, he said. Dayakar Rao opined that if all the parties decide not to contest the forthcoming local body elections, TDP would also follow them.

The meeting also adopted various resolutions. It demanded the state government to install Komaram Bheem, Kaloji Narayana Rao, Chakali Ilamma and other T-heroes’ statues on the Tank Bund.
