Decide T by June 30 or we will take ‘harsh’ decisions
News pulse, Politics | admin | June 27, 2011 at 3:48 amStating that nothing short of a separate Telangana would satisfy the members of the Congress Action Committee for Telangana (CAFT), its convenor and MLC Y Yadav Reddy on Monday said that the last date for the High Command to announce a final decision on the separate statehood demand is June 30, 2011.
Talking to media persons at the Assembly media point, Mr Yadav Reddy said that if the High Command fails to announce a decision on the separate Telangana demand by June 30, the CAFT members would meet at the Exhibition Society on July 1 at 11 AM and take some harsh decisions.
The CAFT convenor also revealed that the Centre had, so far, offered the state government 14 different kinds of ‘packages’, for the development of Telangana. “However, we rejected all those packages, even though they were beneficial to the region, because we want nothing short of a separate Telangana,” Mr Yadav Reddy said.
He added that the CAFT has represented to the High Command about the pressure on the Congress leaders, especially after the Justice Srikrishna Committee submitted its Report.
“We are waiting for a final decision on the separate statehood demand. We will wait till June 30. After that, we have to take some harsh decisions. We have already made our final appeal to the High Command,” Mr Yadav Reddy said.
The MLC also condemned media reports that some leaders from Telangana are in favour of diluting the separate statehood movement. “If these reports are true, we are seriously condemning these leaders,” Mr Yadav Reddy said.
