Kavuri, why don’t you seek merger with TN?
News pulse, Politics | admin | July 28, 2011 at 4:18 pmThe TRS leader of Warangal district and former MP, Mr Vinod Kumar, has suggested to the Seemandhra elected representatives to demand re-merger of their regions with the neighbouring Tamilnadu as they were opposing de-merger of Telangana region in the so-called interests of national integrity.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, Mr Vinod Kumar demanded the Seemandhra leaders to explain why they had demanded separate Andhra State from the erstwhile Madras State. The TRS leader said there was nothing wrong in their demand for separate Telangana State as they had successfully agitated for separate Andhra State. Stating that several States were carved out after the country’s independence, Mr Vinod Kumar asserted that development was possible only in the smaller States.
Responding to the remarks of the Eluru MP, Mr Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, the TRS leader said there are States in the country smaller than the Goa-like Krishna district. He also said that the people of the Telangana region would have no objection if the Krishna district was made a State. Mr Vinod Kumar advised the Eluru MP not to make ridiculous statements in future. Separate Telangana State was the long cherished goal of the people of the region, he added.
