Nagam goes on fast in Nizamabad

The former minister and suspended TDP leader, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, here on Thursday went on hunger strike for unification of various political parties and people’s associations for achievement of separate Telangana State. His colleagues, Mr Venugopalachary, Mr Harishwar Reddy and Mr Jogu Ramanna also participated in the fast along with Dr Reddy.
Speaking at the hunger strike camp arranged at dharna chowk near the Collectorate, Dr Nagam said that their high command was none other than the people of the region. He also appealed to the resigned legislators of all parties to join the struggle.
It may be mentioned here that when the suspended TDP leader had undertaken fast in Hyderabad for the first time recently, a large number of people and leaders from several political parties and people’s associations turned up and expressed solidarity with him. His fast in Nizamabad town has become the talk of the town and the entire Telangana region in general.
Apart from the Telangana JAC, the Bar association and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi extended support to Dr Nagam. The estranged TDP leader also appealed to other political parties and students’ unions to extent support to his agitation.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Venugopalachary said their hunger strike will be a slap for the Congress and Telangana TDP leaders for enacting dramas on resignations.
