Separate Telangana in 2 weeks – KCR

On the occasion of KCR’s visit to express solidarity with the Telangana Congress leaders that have taken up 48 hours fast, he told the fasting Congress legislators that their party’s high command would make an announcement on the formation of Telangana in two weeks. “We have reached the climax of the Telangana agitation. I have been getting information from New Delhi that the Centre would make an announcement on Telangana in the next two weeks. We need to remain united and drop our guns till our goal is achieved,” Rao said.
Congress leaders gave him a standing ovation and also wrapped a tri-colour Congress khanduwa (silk scarf) around his neck. Rao carried the scarf along with his party’s pink scarf throughout his stay there.
The 48-hour fast is in protest against Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad’s statement that the issue concerning the new state of Telangana could not move an “inch” without the assembly’s unanimous resolution.
