Sonia, beware of Telangana mothers curse
News pulse, Politics | admin | July 31, 2011 at 7:09 amTelangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha on Sunday cautioned President Pratibha Patil, Speaker Meira Kumar and Congress president Sonia Gandhi to be beware of the possible curse of around 600 mothers whose children have committed suicide in despair that their supreme sacrifice has not had the desired effect of the creation of a separate Telangana state.
Addressing the gathering after releasing a poster of Telangana Women Teachers Federation at the Somajiguda Press Club, Ms Kavitha said that the three ladies at the Centre, Ms Pratibha Patil, Ms Meira Kumar and Ms Sonia Gandhi will have to bear the ill-effect of the curses of the women of Telangana since they have not understood their maternal mindset.
“The women of Telangana will curse these three ladies for not understanding their anguish at the losses of their loved ones due to suicides in desperation over the delay in formation of the state. Their reluctance to take a favourable decision and fulfil the aspirations of the people of the region would take a heavy toll on them,” the Telangana Jagruthi president said. Telangana United Front president Vimalakka recalled the services of women in the freedom movement. “Women like Chakali Ailamma and K Komaladevi fought for liberation of Telangana state from Razakars bravely,” Vimalakka said.
She further appealed to the Centre to announce the formation of Telangana state and fulfil the aspirations of region’s people.
About 50 members of Telangana Women Teachers Federation were present at the programme, organised to expressed solidarity with the proposed employee’s strike set to begin from August 17
