Andhra Pradesh BJP today urged Telangana MPs, who have tendered resignations over Telangana statehood, to join in the discussion on calling-attention motion moved by Leader of Opposition Sushama Swaraj in the Lok Sabha. Speaking to reporters here, state BJP spokesperson NVSS Prabhakar said the motion on Telangana, moved by Swaraj, would come up for discussion on August 5, and Telangana MPs of ruling Congress, TDP and TRS (who have resigned) should attend the Parliament to support the motion.

“They should attend the Parliament on the day to mount pressure on Central government to move the bill on separate statehood for Telangana,” he said. As Lok Sabha Speaker had not yet accepted the resignations, the MPs should use the opportunity to express their view, Prabhakar said. He said if government failed to announce any concrete decision, then the MPs should put pressure for acceptance of resignations. 15 MPS alongwith 101 MLAs of different parties have tendered their resignations to support the separate state demand
