Danam defends govt’s ESMA issue
News pulse, Politics | admin | August 6, 2011 at 9:00 amThe Minister for Labor, Mr Danam Nagender, has defended the government’s move to bring several departments under ESMA.
Speaking to the media in the Secretariat, Mr Nagender said the cabinet sub-committee on employees issues actually scheduled to submit its findings to the Chief Minister on Saturday, but it was postponed as the Chief Minister was busy on other schedule.
Mr Nagender also condemned the media reports that the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr C. Damodar Rajanarasimha, was not chairing the meetings of Cabinet sub-committee. The Deputy Chief Minister has been presiding over the cabinet sub-committee meetings, but anyone of the committee members was briefing the media.
Replying to a question on Finance department under ESMA, the Minister felt that the Finance department, which was looking after payment of salaries, scholarships and tuition fee reimbursements come under essential services.
On the allegation of the employees JAC that only four Telangana ministers, who have not resigned to their posts, were attending the Cabinet sub-committee meeting, he quipped “Pandavas were also only five”.
