TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has backed the call for bandh in Telangana on August 5 which was given by a joint action committee of students demanding deletion of a clause in the Presidential Order to pave way for barring Hyderabad as a free zone for the purpose of service.
He also asked the students to go ahead with obstruction of the written exam for recruitment of sub-inspectors of police on August 13 if the government did not concede the demand. The bandh and obstruction of exams on August 13 and 14, the latter for recruitment of degree college lecturers, were part of the agitational programme announced by Telangana students JAC on Saturday.
Citing the highhandedness of the government in going ahead with the recruitment exams, he said he could visualise worse situations if Telangana did not get statehood. “I will commit suicide in that event. We have to get Telangana at any cost. There is no other alternative for us.”
