Stop Dummugudem works – Komati Reddy
News pulse, Politics | admin | August 28, 2011 at 7:01 pmMinister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the State government should stop the construction works of the Dummugudem-Nagarjuna Sagar Tail Pond project as it will be against the interest of farmers of both Nalgonda and Khammam.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who resigned from the post in support of the separate Telangana state but the resignation is yet to be accepted, said the project was intended to benefit the coastal Andhra region and said if the project works were not stopped, the farmers, especially from Nalgonda and Khammam districts would face an adverse situation.
Referring to crop holiday being observed by the farmers of East Godavari district, Mr Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the farmers in different area in Telangana region had been observing the crop holiday for some decades due to various reasons but nobody bothered about them.
Contrary to this, when the Seemandhra farmers observe the crop holiday, the government is expressing concern over it and taking all the steps, including announcement of loans and other packages to these farmers. “ “Doesn’t it mean injustice towards the Telangana region,?” he questioned. He has expressed confidence that his resignation would be accepted soon. “If the resignation is not accepted until October, I will go for a direct stir protesting against my own party and government,” he said.
Mr Reddy also found fault with minister P Shankar Rao for making derogatory remarks against the Passport office employees.
