Congress leaders from Telangana region on Sunday criticised Tamil Nadu Governor-designate K Rosaiah for his reported remarks that formation of Telangana would not be possible by fighting in the streets.
“After being appointed as Governor, it is not proper for him to say that street fights would not get Telangana. We condemn his remarks,” Congress MLC K Yadava Reddy told reporters.

“For him, the Telangana movement is a street fight. He has insulted Telangana people,” Congress leader and former minister T Jeevan Reddy said.

Congress Rajya Sabha member K Keshav Rao also criticised Rosaiah for allegedly not helping the Telangana cause though the Central leadership was positively inclined towards it. According to media reports, Rosaiah yesterday said that everyone should wait for Centre’s decision on the Telangana statehood demand and that the issue cannot be resolved in the streets.
