Want another resolution on Andhra-Telangana merger?
News pulse, Politics | admin | August 2, 2011 at 4:12 pmaking a serious exception over the stand of the Union Home Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, that the Assembly has to pass another resolution seeking deletion of Clause 14(f) of the Presidential Order, the IT Minister, Mr Ponnala Laxmaiah, has said the former’s remarks were mischievous and amounted to insulting the elected representatives and the resolution passed by the Assembly already.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Mr Ponnala ridiculed Mr Chidambaram’s stand and asked whether the 1956 merger of Andhra and Telangana regions needed another resolution to be passed by the Assembly once again. He also made it clear that the Telangana ministers, who have resigned from their posts would not step into the Assembly until the 14(F) Clause was deleted. He said Mr Chidambaram’s remarks would lead to unwarranted consequences in the State.
The BC Welfare Minister, Mr Basvaraju Saraiah, opined that there was no need for another resolution for deletion of the controversial Clause 14 (f) from the Presidential Order. Both the ministers discussed the issue at the Panchayat Raj Minister, Mr K Jana Reddy’s residence.
Condemning the remarks of the Primary Education Minister, Dr S. Sailajanath, the Labour Minister, Mr Danam Nagender, said the former’s remarks were improper and mischievous. He said the remarks of Dr Sailajanath were not good at the time when the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, was sincerely striving to get the 14(F) Clause removed from Presidential order. He also demanded that the State government conduct the SI recruitment examination only after the controversial clause was deleted.
