The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday blamed Home Minister P. Chidambaram’s “misadventure” for the Telangana crisis in Andhra Pradesh.
“There is a complete crisis in Andhra Pradesh. The administration in 10 districts has come to a halt. The atmosphere there is charged,” said BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman.
“There has been an agitation going on in Telangana thanks to the misadventure of Chidambaram when he announced the process of giving free and separate Telangana on Dec 9, 2009.”
She said the subsequent move by the government to set up a commission headed by Justice B. Srikrishna to examine the feasibility of a separate Telangana was done only to buy time.
“Does the Congress take responsibility for the constitutional crisis in Andhra Pradesh?”
