Appealing to the agitating Telangana employees to withdraw the “Sakala Janula Samme” keeping in view the hardships being faced by the common man, the PCC Chief, Mr Botcha Satyanarayana has said that the Centre and the Congress party were seriously trying to find a solution to the Telangana issue.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Mr Botcha said that the daily wage workers and poor people were suffering due to the strike by RTC crew. Stating that there were many ways to solve the problem, he said the Cabinet sub-committee met twice on the issue.
Responding to the lathi-charge on the Nizam College Hostel students on Monday, Mr Botcha said the police might have resorted to lathi-charge with a view to maintain law and order. Stating that the Centre’s decision on Telangana issue may come shortly, he refused to comment about the rumors of the TRS Chief, Mr KCR, going on fast-unto-death again.
The PCC president said that he would tour Anantapur district on October 3 and 4 to visit eight Assembly constituencies. The ‘Uttarandhra Congress Garjana’ meeting will be held on September 25 at Vizag beach from 4pm to 7 pm, he added. Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Congress would announce its candidate for Banswada bye-election on September 23.
The Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Dr Charandass Mahant Umos, met Mr Botcha at his residence in the Ministers Colony.
