Cong politicians pay homage to ‘YSR’

Rich floral tributes were paid to former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy across the state on the occasion of his second death anniversary.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana, former government advisor K V P Ramachandra Rao, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Bhandaru Karthika Reddy, ministers and other senior leaders on Friday paid rich floral tributes to former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at his statue in Punjagutta crossroads.

They recalled the YSR services for the state, particularly for the welfare of poor and middle class people, by implementing various schemes and programmes. The leaders vowed to continue YSR’s schemes and programmes in letter and spirit.

YSR was killed in a helicopter crash near Nallamalla forests in Kurnool district while going to launch official programme in Tirupati in Chitoor district in 2009.

PCC chief Botsa satyanarayana, Ministers Danam Nagender and vatti Vasanth Kumar, former government advisor K V P Ramachandra Rao garlanded YSR statue at City Centre in Banjara Hills and paid floral tributes to him.

Speaking on the occasion, Danam Nagender said that YSR played a major role in bringing party to power in the 2004 and 2009 elections. Stating that no one can fill the gap, he said that government was committed to implement his schemes for the benefit of downtrodden classes at any cost.

Meanwhile YSR Congress party youth wing organized blood donation camps and mass feeding programmes across the state to pay tributes to the former chief minister.
