Industry bandh to cost Rs 1,000cr in 2 days

The ongoing T-agitation has caused an estimated loss of Rs 2,800 crore to the industrial sector over the last 13 days. While the losses for the first 10 days were calculated at Rs 1,800 crore, the loss of production caused by the two-day strike Telangana Industrial Federation is expected to cost the sector another Rs 1,000 crore losses.

Violence at the Jeedimetla and Cherlapally industrial area was repo-rted during the two-day TIF strike. While agitators resorted to stone pelting at a couple of offices, work at all units at Nacharam, Uppal, Patan-cheru, Pochampally and Mallepally came to a complete halt. BHEL and other PSU were closed .
