Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof Kodandaram said celebration of Telangana Liberation Day is not complete without achieving separate Telangana State.
Prof. Kodandara was speaking to members of Telangana Development Forum in Detroit over phone to commemorate Telangana Liberation Day. He said September 17 will not only help Indians across the globe revisit the history and hoist Indian flag in fond remembrance of Hyderabad’s merger into Indian Union from the clutches of Nizam rule, but also understand it from Telanganaa’s years of struggle for its demerger from Andhra Pradesh. Stating that the region witnessed huge exploitation, abuse and insult from the Seema-Andhra leaders, who were at helm, he vehemently demanded immediate creation of Separate Telangana.
He was happy that this year’s Liberation Day celebrations were held in the backdrop of an indefinite strike (Sakala Janula Samme) by the State government employees. He assured the Telangana NRIs, concerned over government’s apathy to the cause, saying more and more people and sections of the society are joining hands to bring the “settler State government” to its knees.
“We are at a crucial stage of the agitation since its inception in 1956. Let’s stand united within our own means and push for the Statehood. The strike is going from strength to strength. We already are seeing some positive developments over the last two days at the Center and hopeful of the solution to our just cause,” said Prof Kodandaram.
TDF Detroit promised the Telangana Political JAC that TDF USA will strongly rally behind the cause in whatever way they can.
